Selling Your Home on the Internet

It’s been said that moving house is one of the most stressful times of your life, and we’ve no doubt that the process of selling your home contributes to that. Choosing to sell your home on the Internet undoubtedly makes the process easier, but where do you start?

It’s been said that moving house is one of the most stressful times of your life, and we’ve no doubt that the process of selling your home contributes to that. Choosing to sell your home on the Internet undoubtedly makes the process easier, but where do you start?

In the past, the sale of homes was largely controlled by Real Estate Agents, but that’s no longer the case. This is largely due to the openness of the Internet; the ease of advertising that sellers now enjoy, and the simplicity of finding advertisements when you’re looking to purchase a house.

There is plenty of options for who to go with to sell your home online, but sometimes a large amount of choice can be counterproductive. If you’re looking to sell property online and need an extra bit of guidance, we’re here to help.

Using an Online Real Estate Agent

Working with an online Real Estate Agent to sell your home is probably the closest you’re going to get to traditional house selling online. Online Real Estate Agents are a great choice if you want to feel like you’re in control of the sale of your home, but still want to have the safety net of a Real Estate Agent.

The main question you should be asking yourself at this stage is “is an online Real Estate Agent for me?” The answer to that is probably yes, if you:

  • Want to feel like you’re in control, but still want to feel supported
  • Don’t want to spend lots of money on a regular Real Estate Agent
  • Are comfortable conducting viewings and showing people around your home yourself
  • You don’t mind doing a bit of research to find the right online Real Estate Agent for you. A simple Google search should make this a breeze, though!

With that being said, online Real Estate Agents aren’t for everyone. Perhaps you feel like you need the added support of a local agent, and that’s absolutely fine. Or maybe you’d prefer to go it alone?

Going it Alone

Unlike the previous method of hiring an online Real Estate Agent, this time you’re completely on your own. Of course, you will still need to hire a professional for things such as the valuation, and the actual legal transaction, and perhaps even the photos if you’re not great with a camera. Apart from that, though, you’re on your own!

Going it alone is the most ideal option for those who want the most control over the sale of their homes, and don’t want to pay a fee to a Real Estate Agent of any kind.

This means you’ll be responsible for having your property valued, putting together the listings, the photographs, the viewings, and all the additional extras that go along with not having a Real Estate Agent.

While this all sounds like a lot of work, if you are the type of person who prefers to be in complete control, it’s probably the least stressful option for you. For a more in depth explanation and further information on selling your home without a Real Estate Agent, take a look at this article.
